Based in Cumbria’s Lake District National Park, Keswick has a long and rich history of providing young people in Keswick with somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to.

The original Old Mill Youth Club building near the river Greta had to be demolished in 2010, after the devastating 2009 floods. The Youth Club has been nomadic ever since, offering youth activities from any temporary space available at the time.

Today’s youth club activities in Keswick are being managed and delivered by our own employed youth worker (the wonderful Rachel!) and a group of dedicated volunteers, operating as Keswick Youth Centre Services CIO (KYCS), a well-established local charity.

Our membership has grown significantly in the past 3 years and we now have 180+ young members, meeting at 3 different sites every week – offering space for socialising, arts and crafts activities, creating music and exploring canoeing.

KYCS is on a mission to provide life-changing support services for young people in the wider Keswick area, so that Keswick remains a sustainable and thriving community with our youth at its heart.

We believe delivering on our mission is a long-term commitment, in order to serve many generations to come. Our strategy to achieve this has been built on 5 key pillars, providing somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to

Inspirational Youth Hub

Providing a new inspirational, safe, multi-use Youth + Community Hub – a permanent home for our youth at the heart of our community.

Sustainable Future

We remain nomadic for the time being, while we’re working hard on several exciting new opportunities to finally give the young people of Keswick a new permanent home again.
